hits a home run: Haji Haji with Fanana

Successfully met Fanana on Saturday for our long-planned Haji Lane tour!

And mind you, that was despite all the sudden setbacks!

Must have been a curse or something cause more than half of Ahlahs dropped out of the pre-arranged plan prior to the date, citing family gathering, illness and "that-time-of-the-month" reasons!

And it's amusing and funny at the same time because Fanana was the organizer of this event and not me, but I don't know why everyone actually SMS-ed me all their questions and reasons for not being able to turn up tomorrow! Lol!

But the most hilarious SMS and phone call had to go to Ms Nur! Seriously, that girl beats everyone hands (and probably legs) down!

2 days before the event (and fyi, we planned this even before she left for Tioman!), Fanana and I had actually tweeted her and SMS-ed her about this "Ahlahs goes Haji" event!

Anyway, one day before the Haji Haji event, mass SMS-ed everyone to remind them and I swore I nearly vomited blood upon reading Miss Nur's reply, "Eh so the haji lane thing is tmr? What are we gonna be doing anyway?"

Couldn't stand it and SMS-ed back, "Yeah duhs! Erm go there, probably to shop? I want to go there to eat ice cream!" *Smacks head* But such laggy-ness is absolutely typical since it's Rainy we are talking about here!

On the very day of Haji Haji, I SMS-ed Fanana and her to meet at Bugis MRT Station at 1.30pm and at 1pm, Rainy suddenly called out of nowhere!

Me: "Hello? Yes Rainy?"

Rainy: "Hey Kim! Just saw your message ah and it's 1pm already! Where're you now? Don't tell me you're still at home!"

Me: "*Guilty giggle* Yeah! Still at home!"

Rainy: "*Girly giggle* So proud of it somemore! Still SMS-ed to meet at 1.30pm seh!"

Me: "Oh no lahs! Fanana and I got the memo to arrive at 2pm except you cause erm because you have a bad record?! Oops!"

Rainy: "*Giggles again* What the?! Anyway, I may not be able to join you and Fanana cause I have to go home and see whether there's a family gathering today ah!"

Me: "Huhs? Why do you have to go all the way home just to find out if there's family gathering today? There's such thing as a phone, you know! Why can't you just call your home phone seh?"

Rainy: "Oh yeah! *Giggles* Anyway, I will probably go for my family gathering and join you guys later ah! Anyway, why are you guys going ahead without Sow and Joys?"

Me: "Erm because Fanana took leave so we don't want to waste it? Lol! Anyway, maybe you want to repeat the same thing to Fanana cause it's more polite and why're you telling me all these seh, Fanana's the organizer not me! *Giggles*"

Rainy: "Oh yeah ah! Actually I also don't know why I called you! Gonna call Fanana now!"

Me: -_-"

Anyway, it was totally not smooth-sailing thereafter too! Decided to take a cab down to Bugis since I was going to be late so ended up waiting for like 30 minutes for a cab at my home!

Being one who does not give up easily, proceeded to walk over to Jurong Point and try to take a cab from there but the queue from all the taxi stands were like freaking long! Proving again that Jurong has a huge overcrowding problem! I'm serious! I'm surprised that being reclaimed land, it hasn't literally sunk underwater yet!

Strolled over to the temporary bus interchange opposite Jurong Point and waited for a cab there but it was tough flagging a cab, had to beat like three blangas, one couple and one IT professional along the way! Waited like forever though I wanted to give up but was afraid that a cab would arrive if I did!

And I swear some of the cabbies were RIDICULOUS! They just love putting their cab status as "Busy" and zooming past you though I don't know what exactly are they so busy with especially since I don't see any pregnant lady inside!

In the end, ended up waiting one and a half hour just for cabs till I FINALLY GAVE UP and took an MRT there to meet Fanana!

Fanana was SMS-ing me that she can't believe I waited three hours for a bus home the last time and now, one and a half hour for a cab! Oh yeah, she was jokingly chiding me (like a mom) for having no stop-loss and that's terrible to abide to especially if I trade in the future! But hey, to my defense, that doesn't mean that I'll apply the same theory to my workplace! My SP lecturers taught us well and I have professionalism! *Flashes a Rachel Berry Smile* ;*D

Finally arrived at Bugis and arranged to meet Fanana at Pastamania! Oh yeah, owed Fanana one for being extremely late (requested her to buy wet tissues at Watsons for me so that she could pass the time away)

Anyway, was inside Pastamania studying the menu when Fanana called me to ask my whereabouts, told her I was inside Pastamania and she was like huhs, really, but I just went in but I didn't see you! Turned out she walked past me but couldn't recognize me with my cropped haircut! Lol, damn funny!

Oh yeah and quickly shoved her 2 lipglosses to her so she would be distracted and wouldn't remember to scold me for being so damn late! Lol!

Anyway, we went over to Haji Lane soon after though we ran into some mean and ill-mannered ah bengs, while we were still in Parco, who made my blood boil, would have yelled at them to get the hell lost (if only I understood what they were saying soon enough) But I shall respect the feelings of others and shadn't go into details here!

Walked over to Haji Lane but it was still drizzling so thank god for our brollies! Went over to The Blogshop first and Fanana and I had an awesome time laughing, discussing fashion and clothes, comparing, trying on and asking each other for opinions on our handpicked dresses!

We finally left the shop with three purchases in tow! Me with a penguin tunic and a stripey-denim dress while Fanana bought her very first long maxi, which was electric blue! Feels weird using words like "her first maxi", sounds so infantry!

Anyway, silly me was asking the cashier at The Blogshop where's Pluck and he was like erm right beside us? Lol!

Pluck's ice creams were good especially the Lychee Martini, Bailey's and Blueberry Cheesecake! Though sad case that they didn't had Butter Pecan when we visited but it could be our temporary substitute to Gusttimo!
