Rise and Shine and went to Szechuan Court with my family on a random Sunday morning!
Plus it's awesome as it was Sis treat this time 'round! Heh!
Plus it's awesome as it was Sis treat this time 'round! Heh!
However, it had been quite an awful week for me thus far because I was down with a sore eye (due to the countless dirt accumulated from the dusty stacks of membership forms at my temporary data entry job workplace)
Since I was still in the midst of recuperating from my sore eye, I couldn't risk putting on any makeup to aggravate it further!
So, behold the unsightly sight of my bare face ahead...
P.S. That's all folks!

Bare-faced me!
Check out my huge eye bags and sore eye!

Kimmie's verdict:
(Sorry, no other photos taken of the food!)
Oh yeah, the buffet was overall alright though it had some good dishes that deserves to be highlighted out and some tad disappointing ones!
The highlighted dishes were:
- "Har gow" or rather better known as prawn dumpling,
- The various soups offered like double-boiled winter melon soup, pumpkin soup and hot and sour soup
- Fried Ee-fu noodles (which had varying standards like it could be moist and flavorful from the absorption of the soup stock at the first round but could be dry the next)
- Drunken chicken with this uniquely green colored ginger
- Steamed Spare Ribs
- Steamed Char Siew Pau
- Some fried prawn thingy which I couldn't remember the exact name of
- Red Bean Paste from the dessert menu
The disappointing ones were:
- Spicy Dumplings ("Hong You Chao Shou") as the sauce contained huge traces of Mongolian pepper, which didn't sit well with our taste buds
- Chilled Pork Slices which was actually shabu shabu pork slices with some dressing
- "Siew Mai"
- Steamed marinated/ bean paste Chicken Claw ("Feng Zhao") probably a case of too much cinnamon spices or barks added into the marination?
Overall verdict:
Would probably try their a la carte menu the next time 'round to give a more justified verdict as the items in the buffet menu may not be the best representation of the dishes sold in the restaurant especially since the crucial quality of the food may be compromised by the restricted value-for-money price and timing of the buffet!Yummy Rating: 3.2/5
Sis taking the wheel from dad, for the ride home!
...Although not really so since she still needs dad as her driving instructor! Lol!
