t was time for our yearly Ah Lahs tradition (:
to celebrate the 1st day of the new year together!
nd it would have been a
perfect picnic on that day
if not for our lateness and the weather!
lol!
we were supposed to meet at Chinese Garden about 12
but practically everyone was running late
so the arranged time got shifted
from 12 to 1 to 2 pm
and omg, sow and i nearly suffered a heart attack
and had the time of our lives
evading rainy who arrived
unexpectedly at Jurong Point's Ntuc
which was directly next to the balloon shop
when we had a balloon surprise in stored for her!
(*special shout-out to sow for being so nice to
meet me at Jurong Point slightly earlier to
help me with the balloons! thanks!)
gosh, you should have seen us,
we looked like we were in some
mission impossible or 007 film
running all over the place around Jurong Point!
and when we finally gotten the balloons
(thanks to fana who was our spy to delay time)
sow and i looked like some crazed pregnant women
especially with so much helium balloons
floating around us!
plus it was no easy feat white-lying to rainy
to keep the surprise under wraps!
in the midst of it all, we also received
a distressed phone call from joys
complaining about the smell and stuff!
and wow, in the cab, sow was completely
engulfed by all the balloons and
yeah, according to her,
i was FINALLY blocked out from her sight for once!
and we honestly made a wrong decision
to alight at the gate as
it was a long long walk to the bloody pagoda
that the rest had settled at
and as usual, we arrived to find them already camwhoring!
lol!
and joys was already happily munching on some food!
but it was mcdonald's fries! ):
like my most dreaded food on earth,
second only to beansprouts!

we were supposed to meet at Chinese Garden about 12
but practically everyone was running late
so the arranged time got shifted
from 12 to 1 to 2 pm
and omg, sow and i nearly suffered a heart attack
and had the time of our lives

rainy and fanana then went off
to get our pastamania lunch
while joys, sow and i remained
just then, the sky went overcast
and joys suggested we should pack up
and start running to the shelter
before it really starts pouring
but sow couldn't resist the temptation of the cards
and suggested we play a round of tai tee first
before it starts raining on us
and being avid gamblers, we all agreed!
lol!
just as sow has happily shuffled the cards
and gave out the cards to us,
it started RAINING!!!
like what the hell, how timely!
guess god hates gambling! ):
anyway, so we quickly just grabbed everything
and ran to the nearby toilet to seek refuge and
soon we were scrambling inside the female toilet
as the foreign workers there were laughing probably
1) at our get up or rather my get up
2) our huge loots or rather barangs barangs
3) our drenched and train-whacked look
so anyway, we were calling the birthday girl
whether she has any wet weather programs
or Plan B
and guess what rainy's wet weather plans were?
going to my house!
lol! like what the hell!
so we started strategizing Plan A or B or C
and decided upon meeting rainy and fanana
at the mrt station before proceeding!
but the big problem is,
we only had one umbrella from fanana's bag
joys and i then decided to improvise and
use the plastic picnic mat as
a cover above our heads while
sow would use the umbrella!
and it was super hilarious as
joys and i were like performing lion dance
(yes, ahead of the lunar new year)
she was in front, leading the way
while i was behind her,
sharing the plastic cover together!
and can you believe that in the midst,
bloody joys could actually still took sips
from her Mcdonald's coke?!
after meeting up with fanana and rainy,
we decided to just drop by the nearest
HDB block and sort of chill!
but alas, there were like
three half-naked men
dancing around the void deck
but we were too busy
gorging on our pasta lunch and cupcakes
to bother as were super famished!
after popping the sparkling juice,
taking some photos and chatting,
joys suggested we pop by
Jurong Point's Swensens
and it was kind of amusing
when the Singtel operator couldn't find
the number for Jurong Point Swensens
and all of us went "huhs? is he serious?"
and when we eventually found the number,
it turns out that Jurong Point Swensens
doesn't accept reservations!
so we went there via bus and
yes, with our balloons and everything
so we were quite a spectacle to watch
and i think we could just feel like all eyes were on us!
after swensens,
we decided we HAD to get rid of the balloons
as they were beginning to be a burden!
so rainy was busy giving out
the balloons to random children and
scaring them at the same time!
lol!
after getting rid of the least favorite colored balloons,
we held to our favorite colored balloons,
made a wish and released them
and just when i wanted to
capture the beautiful spectacular moment,
i had a panic attack as
my camera was totally out of battery,
couldn't even took one last shot!
AAAARRGGGHH!!!!!!
and thus,
it remains to be one of the
greatest regret of my life!
