Since there's still some time before my ear appointment, I shall blog about this!
Okay so we had a Food Tasting Session at Keng Eng Kee Seafood at I-forgot-which-day!
Basically, it's at some "zhi char" open-air and air-conditioned restaurant joint!
Depends on where you would love to sit!
Anyway, no, by means of food tasting session, I don't exactly mean like this big hoo-ha over the food blogging community that created quite a ruckus!
But rather, a food tasting session for my daddykin's 60th birthday! And yes, if it mattered that much to you, we did pay for it in cold hard cash!
Oh yeah and it's also in-conjunction with this big surprise that my sis revealed to us later that evening!
Guess what?! Well, the surprise was...
MY SISTER PASSED HER DRIVING TEST!
In case you're still in a loop, yes, that means that my sister has gotten her driving license and is now the official family driver!
Oh and in case you are wondering why we had to have food tasting sessions just for my pop's 60th birthday like it's such a grandeur affair, it's because it is!
Being 60 is like a big milestone in our family so my daddykin has planned enthusiastically (like since last year) to treat all the relatives (on his family side) to a birthday dinner and being known as the family "who knew where all the good food were at", of course we had to present the best and only the best were acceptable!
'Nuff said! Here are some of the dishes we tried on that fateful day!

Oh yeah and it was also awarded a Makansutra award!
The two must-orders: Prawn Paste Chicken and "Nai Bai"!
Their prawn paste chicken here is simply one of the best I've ever tried
and
the "nai bai" is a must-order cause they rarely have it!
Hence it all boils down to your luck!

Obviously my favorite since it has huge chunks of fish fats (that melts in your mouth) all over!
But hey, to my defense, it's omega 3! Lol!
However, this dish has gradually turned too salty for my liking over the years!
Case of too much bean paste used!

My family and I love the chilli crab here!
It's got the most yummilicious crab roe sauce ever tasted!
I don't know about Jumbo cause I haven't eaten there since I was young!
Too bad we only ordered one crab cause my mom's watching her cholesterol level!

Speaking of the chilli crabs, my family was wondering whether they had ever swapped the actual crab into a smaller one when it reaches the kitchen! Lol! I think we gave it way too much thought!
Oh yeah and there was an inside joke that the owner's daughter looks exactly like me so she's known as my twin!
However, nahs, daddy wasn't particularly impressed with the dishes that fateful day so I guess it was round 2 of food tasting session at NUS Scholar's Restaurant! But I shall reserve that post for another day! Lol!
