Marina Bay Sands Day I

Oops! So this post is a little too outdated!

Been busy with tests and class assignments hence the lack of updates!

Anyway, we went to Marina Bay Sands during the Singapore Grand Prix F1 Season!

My family's like the best manx!

They kept the plan under wraps and only informed me the night before our check-in date! Lol!

And thus, I spent the night (last minute) packing away like crazy for our necessities!

So exhausted, I fell asleep and before I knew it, it was already...

Rise & Shine to MBS!

My Sis!

Me! On our way to MBS!

Reached MBS!!!

...after encountering much difficulties though!

We spent an awful lot of time turning 'round and 'round, trying to locate a route to drive into MBS!

After we drove into MBS, there were tons of car parks around, like Carpark A to C!

Not knowing which car park to turn into, we ended up calling the hotel and finally settled for Carpark C!

Turned out we were supposed to park at the car park nearest to the hotel and we didn't!

Which meant that we had to drag our hand carry bags all the way from Point C to Point A!

Never mind, shall just assume that we're taking a leisure stroll to take in the sights!

After all, as they say, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do!" so we shall just pose as tourists in this touristy spot!

 Inside The Shoppes at MBS!

Have you ever seen a river inside a mall?
Definitely a first for me!

Look! They even have a bridge to go along with it!

 Chanel store!

Tag Heuer Banners all around!

Lewis Hamilton!
Guess that proved F1 was truly in the air!

They even have a sampan for it!

And they even ferried people on those!
We can now have a piece of Venice in our shores! Lol!

Mommy!

Jenson Button for Tag Heuer!

The gorgeous ceiling lights!

Outside the Casino!

Intended to snap a photo of Mom and Dad posing outside the casino but one of the security guards, who looked like a bouncer, shouted, "Eh! No Photo-taking!"

Damn! Attempt to violate rules FAILED!

Never mind!
Shall just be contented with this shot!

At MBS Hotel!!!

Inception much?!
You would have half-expected Leo to jump out!

Inside the area surrounding MBS Hotel!

Love the architecture!
Ellen Page's character would approve!

The only sole "decoration" on the bare wall!

Dad and Sis checking us in!
Can you believe this is actually the hotel's reception area?
It looks so empty and clearly under-staffed!

Received bad news that we were required to wait another two hours in order for them to accommodate our request of changing the king-sized bed to twin-sized beds, which was rather ridiculous!

I mean, sure I understand that it should be in our initiative to inform them in advance before dropping down but which hotel requires two hours alone just to change rooms?

And, well, let's just say their hotel lobby was certainly lacklustre, no seats and tables for hotel guests to settle in while waiting to check in! Felt that that was rather unseemly with their image, especially considering that they are Marina Bay Sands and not just some normal budget hotel!

Anyway, so yeah, since we were told to await for a call and wait till 4pm for our room to be ready, went on a 2 hour trip around The Shoppes at MBS!

Before that,  dumped our bags onto their bell boy counter and off we went!

To the washroom first!

 Cam-whore in progress!

Love the plants outside the toilet!
Lends serenity to the surroundings!
Would love my home to be something like this!

Daddy, Mommy and Sis!

 An architect's heaven!

Doesn't this remind you of our HDB corridors?
One wonders whether it is intentional or accidental!
Hee!

Sis wishing upon a tree...literally!

Check out the lush surroundings!
Beautiful huh! <3

Mommy & Daddy!

Sis!

The word above explains it all!

Shoppers taking photo with Lewis Hamilton's F1 car!

Walked on further outside and we found a "wishing glass bowl"!

Can you see that it's littered with coins?
Mostly with 5 cents coins!
Not sure if it works but people were aiming to throw into the empty hole!

Amused Dad, Sis and Mom!

Mommy trying her luck! Heh!

Looking to see where Mommy's coin ended up at!

My turn to try!!!
But failed!

Sis' turn to try!

The "wishing glass bowl"...with Mommy!

Kinda looks like a UFO Spaceship, don't you think so?

Singapore's own version of the famous Louvre Museum!
Kinda impressed with my camera's zoom
cause it was taken quite a distance away!

Dark cloud hovering over landscape!
Was it a bad omen or a good sign for the race that day?
Hmmmmm....

CBD Area!

The F1 Track from afar!

Our "fengshui" mascot, the Merlion!

Scarlet Red Lips!
I think I look like "The Joker" here!

Our hotel of that day!

Doesn't this reminds you of a white replica of the
Golden Bauhinia Square in Hong Kong?

Posing with the Double C's in life!

I'm adamant that my shot's better! Heehee!
Figures why I'm my family's official photographer! Lol!

Sis with her piece of F1!

"My spanking new red car's parked over there!"

Daddy!

Anyway, the time was up! 4 o'clock! True to my expectations, no one called as per promised!

Walked back to the hotel and the hotel staff told us our room wasn't ready yet (like even though we have waited 2 freaking hours?

Sis and I combined efforts to kick up a fuss and we finally got our room! Apparently, the housekeeping department forgot to update the rooms' system on their side hence the misconception that our room wasn't in check-in condition! Whatever happened to hotel efficiency?

So anyway, shaking off this unpleasant experience, we went to grab our bags and headed up to our room that we fought so hard for!

Check out the traffic police on hand!

Double-chined Me and Sis!

 Our orange hotel room corridor!

Ta-da! Our hotel room!

 Sofa couch!

And erm...the quite pathetic plasma tv!

Camwhored with the room!

Love my scarf and my Dressabelle Dancing Queen Teal Dress!

The view outside our hotel room!

Sis in our hotel room <3

Caught camwhoring yet again! Oops!

Sunkist Sis!

Watching TV!

Excitedly testing out the mirror!

Looking like quite "The Joker" here!
Why soooo serious?!

Piggy Sis caught sleeping!
That's my pillow cover behind! Hee!

Okay okay!
Last shot of my Dressabelle Dancing Queen Teal Dress!
Thanks to @Miss_Pang, I <3 Teal now! Lol!

And it was time...

Off to the Infinity Pool!

*Disclaimer:
If you remembered we only managed to check in at 4pm (all thanks to the mis-management stated above) and after dilly dallying, it was already 5pm and to top it off, the race was starting in 2 hours' time!

Inadequate time left so my parents wanted to head to the pool immediately to bask in the sunlight thus I didn't have time to remove my makeup and only had time to change out so don't mind the heavily made-up face in the photos below please!*

Eeks! Changed to my recently-purchased swimsuit!
Don't laugh please!
My mom remarked that I looked hideously fat!
Thanks manx thanks Mom! Lol!
It's Katy Perry-inspired with polka dots and bow, okay?
Although, obviously, I don't have Katy Perry's figure to boot! Lol!

 Sis lazying in bed!

At the Infinity Pool!

Marina Bay Sands Sky Park!
Simply. Gorgeous. Breath-taking. Bird's Eye View of the CBD Skyscraper!

Fancy a piece of Malibu/Hawaii beach in Singapore?

Hollywood baby!!!

Dreamed a little dream!
Hypnotized Sis to visualize she's in a resort far away from Singapore! Lol!

Daddy giving the thumbs up!

Me with the awesome backdrop!

Sis from far far away!

Two more camwhore shots and...yes, officially done!
Was swimming and holding onto the camera at the same time!

 Daddy & Mommy!
How cute & sweet <3

Evening sky turning to night!

Yes, us AGAIN!

Ohhh...the Beverly Hills' lifestyle!

Erm nope, this wasn't taken during a mist!
Shows there's still much to improve on my camera skills yeah?

Paparazzi Kim in ACTION!
Check out my mom's look of disbelief behind me!
Super hilarious! Just got to love my mommy!

And...night fell!
Tracks all geared up for the qualifying rounds!

The pool at night!
Still lovely!

Could I please steal those lights for my fish tanks?

Infinity Pool at night!

Time for my parents' favorite pool!
The Jacuzzi!

The striking track lights behind us!

Sneaked away with Sis (while my parents were enjoying their jacuzzi) to get up close and personal with the F1 action!

Was dripping wet from head to toe (just came out of the pool) and still in my swimsuit, walked over to the other part of Marina Bay Sands Skypark, "The Observation Deck"! Shivered a little but what the heck!

 Love the purple flyer!

Sis!

I know, I know, I looked like a homeless refugee!

Look closely!
Do you see a white racing car?

Some grey racing car!

Some blue racing car!
Red bull, perhaps!

Overhead view of it!
Super bright lights, wonder how much megawatts were there!

The 1 million and 1 heads blocking my view!

I honestly have no idea!
Is someone trying to call Batman?

The Helix DNA Bridge!

Absolutely loves our lift buttons!
So Tron-like!

Dinner Time!

The restaurant we went!
It's actually a restaurant specializing in buffet actually!
Was eyeing it the moment we got here and
foodies think alike (Like father, like daughter, size-wise too)
so here we are!

Clockwise from left:
Some meat, Seabream (if I'm not wrong), Duck, California Maki,
Sauteed Scallops (super yummy and nice - must try!), Pork Belly, Prawns with Celery
and some Tai Sashimi Appetizer!

Super fresh Sashimi!
Like super fresh!
Clockwise from left:
Salmon sashimi, Hamachi sashimi, Pickles, some raw appetizer,
Maguro sashimi (love it's color!) and Salmon sushi!

 Sis!
Lovely table setting!

Daddy!

 Sis without Specs! Heehee!

Me enjoying my food!

Family!!!

Oops!
Oysters and clams...but eaten up by me!

Majestic walkway leading to the restaurant!

Love the trees! Can I please bring one home?

Some pumpkin/corn soup that wasn't nice!

Somebody's enjoying her meal!

The desserts here are really really good!
Anti-clockwise from left:
Poached pear cake (quite yummy!), some cranberry and fruit cake
(which tasted Christmassy and not nice)
but the bread and butter pudding was out-of-this-world
(probably one of the best I have ever eaten!)

Orangey cake at the top was fragrant with each bite; yummy!

Blueberry Crumble!
<3 <3 <3

Fruits...and Desserts time!
Watermelon, Dragonfruit and
last helping of the Bread & Butter Pudding!

And it was time to settle the bill and rest in our hotel room!

Had a great time relaxing as a family, really felt like we were in some spa resort where one could enjoy a spa and then binge on a feast! Sighs, if only every day would be like that day! All these stress and anxiety seemed to have melted away!

Everyone should, honestly in my opinion, arrange for a perfect getaway once in a while to pamper yourself! How about you? When's your next holiday getaway? (;

P.S. Hope you guys enjoyed this blog entry!
Stay tuned for MBS Day II! ((:
